Just ordered Directions Violet and Manic Panic Lie Locks dyes. Fuck you Tumblr, you’re really rubbing off on me.
Jellyfish stage of hair project.
I found a blog online written by this super cute girl named Kaylah who dyes her hair VERY frequently saying that a good deep conditioning session can do wonders to lighten and strip hair dye. She recommended putting conditioner in your hair and leaving it for several hours underneath a shower cap. I’m hoping that this will not only lighten my hair a little bit, but also make my hair feel soft and healthy again after my earlier bleaching.
Earlier today I started my hair transformation as I tried to bleach out my pink in order to eventually get to my desired hair (which will involve white white white hair). My hair is currently dyed with Virgin Rose from Special Effects which went over very faded Atomic Pink. So I bleached the mid-ends of my hair for about 75 minutes and washed out, which has left me with a faded pastel bubblegum pink. Honestly, I am quite satisfied for the time being, as I know pink can be a real bitch to get out of hair.
If anyone has tips or stories about bleaching hair, let me know!
You can definitely dye pink over faded red! Just make sure it’s light enough for the shade you want, and red can go over that as well. Whether your hair fades to orange or pink you should be able to get a nice pink over it. I find that a nice blend of colors is even better than one flat shade, which is why I love putting dyes over unevenly faded colors. Just try and stick to the same family of colors (no greens, for example), and your hair will turn out lovely :)
Bizarre, unexpected blackish/red hair… Plus a ridiculous amount of hair loss. Kids, don’t try this at home.
I can’t help but roll my eyes when people think that putting a streak of color in their hair is so “bad”.
So I’ve been thinking about bleaching all of my hair out and going for some crazy colors. Temporary colors eventually fade out so I wouldn’t have to keep re-bleaching. But then I think of how beautiful my natural hair color is and I just don’t know whether or not I want to get rid of it. I mean, if it’s my natural hair color, it will always come back this way, so a big part of me is like well why not go for it. Besides, my theory has always been “it’s just hair” so do whatever. IDK. I’m really indecisive. I want to do pink (again), blue, purple, lavender, green, turquoise, yellow, orange, everything eventually. And of course one day I’ll want to go back to my natural hair color. I just can’t decide. And I hate getting that “wtf did you do” look from my parents when I do things to my appearance.
(BTW I’ve done crazy things to my hair already, so it’s not like I haven’t already experimented, I just don’t know whether or not I want to AGAIN/right now.)
